Lyons man arrested after four-month drug trafficking investigation

Authur WilferthThe Wayne County Narcotics teams say they have arrested a man after a four-month investigation into a large-scale marijuana trafficking organization in Wayne County.

During the investigation it was learned that 34-year-old Arthur Wilferth was supplying approximately 10 pounds of high quality marijuana to several lower level dealers in Wayne County who were then distributing it.

The trafficking network was supplying individuals in the Villages of Sodus Point, Sodus, Lyons, Palmyra, Newark, and the Town of Palmyra and Macedon.

Wilferth was arrested during a traffic stop and was found to be in possession of eight pounds of marijuana, half an ounce of powder cocaine and a large amount of currency.

Wilferth was remanded to the Wayne County Jail on $10,000 cash bail. Police say Wilferth is currently on parole from a prior drug charge. More arrests are expected.
