Fairport man arrested for online prostitution
A Fairport man is under arrest for patronizing a prostitute on Craigslist.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office announced Friday the arrest of 46-year old Stephen Frerichs.
Investigators received a tip about an explicit ad on the Craigslist website promoting sex for money. The information on the site was then used to lure Frerichs.
Investigators pretended they were a young man online, to communicate with Frerichs. An undercover officer, who Frerichs thought was the young man, arranged a meeting with him in Penfield Friday.
That's when Frerichs was arrested.
He's charged with Patronizing a Prostitute in the 3rd Degree, a misdemeanor. Frerichs is scheduled to appear in Penfield Town Court next month.
