SUNY Geneseo gets largest gift in school history
The president of SUNY Geneseo has announced the largest gift the school has ever received: $2.5 million.
Charles L. "Bud" VanArsdale, former president of the Bank of Castile, make the gift committment, which is the largest in SUNY Geneseo's history.
The gift is the latest in a long history of support by VanArsdale and his wife, Marjorie. Most recently, they established an international studies scholarship in 1999.
VanArsdale says he chose to support Geneseo because of the college's many contributions to the region, and called the gift an investment in students and the region.
His gift will fund the Charles L. "Bud" VanArsdale Endowed Chair for Entrepreneurship and Small Business at Geneseo's School of Business.
