Manchester, N.Y. — A Manchester man was charged Sunday with felony driving while intoxicated and other charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash on Route 96.

Ontario County deputies said Mark Green, 50, pulled onto Route 96 from the McDonald’s parking lot into the path of a motorcycle driven by William Grosz, 32 of  Palmyra. Grosz was unable to avoid Green’s pickup truck and crashed into it, causing him to be thrown from the bike.

Green initially stopped, but deputies said he then fled the scene. He was later found at his home.

Grosz complained of hip and leg pain and was taken to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital by Shortsville Ambulance. He was treated and released.

Green was charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. He was also ticketed with failure to yield.

The DWI charge is a felony because he was convicted of driving while intoxicated within the last 10 years; it is aggravated because deputies said Green’s blood-alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 for driving.

Green was arraigned in Clifton Springs Village Court and released on his own recognizance.
