Golisano heading to court

Thomas GolisanoPaychex founder, Buffalo Sabres owner and former
gubernatorial candidate Thomas Golisano is going to court to try to end an Erie County Board of Elections probe into his political activities.

A state Supreme Court lawsuit filed Thursday asks a judge to prohibit Elections Commissioners Ralph Mohr and Dennis Ward from continuing what the suit calls a "baseless investigation" that began a year ago.

The suit was filed by Golisano and his Responsible New York organization, its director G. Steven Pigeon, treasurer Gary Parenti and two political action committees, Citizens for Fiscal Integrity and People for Responsible Government.

Ward and Mohr said Friday that they are just doing their jobs in investigating the accuracy and authenticity of the committees' finance reports.
