Milo, N.Y. - A Yates County man was killed Tuesday afternoon when dump truck rolled over an embankment and crashed into a building where he was working, Yates County deputies said.

Deputies said Joshua Larham, 28 of Penn Yan, was doing construction work on the inside of a boathouse at 495 East Lake Road when a dump truck, operated by Timothy Paddock, 60 of Penn Yan, rolled over an embankment above the building.

The truck, which was carrying a load of stone, hit and broke off a small tree and crashed into the boathouse, causing the building to collapse on top of Larham. Rescue crews from the Penn Yan Fire Department, the Dundee Fire Department, Penn Yan Ambulance, and Soldiers and Sailors Medic 55 ambulance crew responded to the scene and found Mr. Larham under the remains of the building.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Yates County Coroner Doug Marchiondia Jr. An autopsy has been ordered and deputies are investigating the accident.

Mr. Larham and Paddock are employees of Sutherland Builders, a Penn Yan contracting company.
