Canandaigua drug bust

Two Canandaigua residents are in jail tonight after the Canandaigua Police Department made a serious drug bust around 4:30 p.m.

Police found more than half a pound of marijuana and several prescription pills in the vehicle of David Bellis, 54, a resident of Canandaigua. They stopped his car on Bristol Street in the city and also discovered more than $6,000 in cash inside.

Police believe Bellis has been supplying marijuana to residents of Canandaigua and Ontario County for more than 20 years.

Bellis was charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the third degree, a felony. Further charges are pending against him.

His passenger, Tracy Lemmon, is charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Police say the arrests are a continuation of their crackdown on the sale and possession of drugs.
