News Director, Job #7-09

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have four (4) years experience in television News management and a demonstrable knowledge of all phases of a television news operation, including, but not limited to: News reporting and writing, newscast formats, news producing, newsroom organization, news technology including satellite news gathering, weather technology and website creation and management. Must possess effective management, administrative (including budgeting and hiring), and editorial skills. Applicants must have a history of successful leadership in a fast-paced, highly charged and aggressive News environment. Must be computer literate.

DUTIES: Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Chief editorial and administrative supervisor of television news organization employing 50 people. The News Director will work with other WHEC-TV department supervisors and the station general manager to create, construct and promote news and public affairs programming to serve and inform viewers.
