Associated Press The FBI says a balding, middle-aged robber nicknamed the "Grandpa Bandit" is a suspect in a recent bank holdup in Syracuse. The robber is also linked to eight other bank heists across the country.

The FBI and Syracuse police say the man who robbed the Solvay Bank in the State Tower Building on September 22 resembles a man caught on surveillance tape at least five other banks.

The FBI believes the "Grandpa Bandit" is behind robberies in Texas, Georgia, Virginia, Arkansas, Alabama and Florida.
