Brooks/Slaughter race hits $1-million

It's officially a million-dollar campaign in New York's 25th Congressional District.

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks and Congresswoman Louise Slaughter both say they're raised more than half a million dollars in the second quarter, with Slaughter holding a slight edge.

The Brooks campaign says Slaughter's money comes from special interests. The campaign goes on to the say that overall, Brooks has raised about $40,000 more than the Congresswoman.

Slaughter says it's Brooks who has the backing of well-funded donors, with an average campaign donation of more than $1,500 in the first quarter of this year.
