While dad is often the stereotypical breadwinner of the family -- what he does to earn that income has now been linked to birth defects in children.
Researchers at the University of North Carolina polled 5,000 fathers. One-thousand had children with a birth defect.
Their findings drew a link between certain jobs and an increased risk for babies born with defects -- including computer scientists, artists, photographers, landscapers, drivers and those operating cranes and diggers.
The study did not look any specific types of chemicals. Much more research is warranted.
