Gift boxes prepared for local AIDS patients

ROCHESTER - In recognition of World AIDS Day, employees at Xerox, who are part of the group "Galaxe Pride at Work," joined the AIDS Community Health Center and put together holiday boxes for area AIDS patients.

This is the tenth year the groups have organized the boxes. And with some extra help from volunteers, they were able to almost quadruple the amount of boxes they did last year.

Xerox funded the project allowing the volunteers to stuff the boxes with personal items like shampoo, socks, toys and greeting cards.

Volunteers think it is important to remember the AIDS community especially during the holidays.

"There is a sizeable community of people with HIV and AIDS in the Rochester area and a lot of them can really use that extra help during the holiday season,” said Jeff Fowler.

Once the boxes are filled they will be delivered to the AIDS Community Health Center.
