Five hours a day -- Monday through Friday -- Jamie Lissow hangs out in this radio studio on the 16th floor of One HSBC Plaza as the co-host with the Wease on 91.5 The Brew.

He's been at this for four years now. “I guess I’m the funny guy on The Wease Show. I’m a sidekick supposed to interject funny jokes when I can.”

But being funny on air is just part of what he does. Lissow is also a stand up comedian and he’s  been at this now 15 years.

He's lived in L.A., Vegas, NYC and now the Greece Olympia and SUNY Fredonia grad is back home and excited. He'll perform during the Rochester Fringe Fest opening for one of the hottest comedians around -- Patton Oswalt. They'll be on stage at Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre

Lissow said, “I’m very excited. Normally the venues I work at will have bowling alleys in them. This is really exciting.”

Lissow's no small potato. He's appeared on The Tonight Show, The Late Late Show, and has a show running right now on Comedy Central. He's come a long way from his days roaming the halls at Greece Olympia.

We asked if he was known as a jokester then. “No, not at all there are.”

You'll be laughing a lot at the Fringe Festival with a lot of comedians on tap from Matt Griffo at Geva's Next Stage, to our own Rich Caniglia -- a member of the Nuts and Bolts comedy improv group.”

Festival producers tell News10NBC this is a first but it won’t be the last. They are already planning ahead for next year's Fringe Fest but they want you to experience this one first.

The First Niagara Fringe Festival runs September 19 through September 23. Click here for ticket, venue and performance information.
