Could autism be linked to speeding up labor? That's what the results of a new study are suggesting.
Researchers looked into more than 600,000 births in North Carolina to compile the data. The results are preliminary, but two possible things researchers say may play a role are labor-inducing drugs or issues that lead doctors to induce women early like diabetes and fetal complications.
The authors of the study say doctors shouldn't avoid inducing because of these results because doing so can save mom and/or baby's life. Autism experts say this needs to be investigated more because more and more U.S. women are being induced.
