News10NBC has been partnering with the Democrat and Chronicle on "Unite Rochester" for a year now. The goal is to get people talking and to find ways to bridge the gap when it comes to race.

Last year the kick off centered on an exhibit at the Rochester Museum and Science Center entitled “Race: Are We So Different?"

Now it's time for the new 2014 campaign and the Democrat and Chronicle is kicking it off with a look at how Rochester has changed over the last 50 years.

The headline in their big story running Sunday is "Five decades: Fifty years after the riots started here -- Rochester is still divided but our divisions aren’t as simple as black and white."

On Friday, we spoke with D&C reporter Sean Dobbins. He wrote the story you will see in Sunday’s newspaper. Press play on the video player to see our conversation with him.
