The city of Rochester is recognizing its outstanding employees.

After a five year hiatus, Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren and Rochester City Council President Loretta Scott marked the return of Rochester’s Employee Recognition Ceremony Wednesday evening.

Employees received one of three awards for customer, public or meritorious service for their efforts of going above and beyond during the past year.

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren said, “When you are in the private industry, there are ways employees get recognized all the time. But in public service, you don't have that, so this is a way for us to tell our employees we appreciate the work that you are doing, you are representing the city of Rochester well, keep it up."
