News10NBC has learned that a woman has died following a three-vehicle crash in Ogden.

The crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Stony Point Road and Union Street.

Police say a dump truck was heading south on Union Street, when another vehicle, that was headed east on Stony Point, attempted to make a left turn onto Union Street. The crash resulted in the involvement of a third vehicle.

It took emergency crews more than an hour to free the crash victims. The driver of the first car, 27-year-old Teresa Devlin, of Chicago, Illinois, was pronounced dead later Monday.  Four other people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. We’re told children are among the victims. The driver of the dump was treated and released at the scene.

Neighbors say they heard a boom and walked outside to see a truck on its side.

Joyce Seaman lives near the scene of the crash. She said, “There's a car under there and you could hear a baby crying.”
Police say they got a child out of the car quickly, but it took crews about an hour to free the driver. Ogden Police Chief Doug Nordquist said, “Firefighters from Spencerport Fire Department began shoveling out the gravel which was on the car, which was also on that vehicle, which made rescue efforts more difficult.”

The county truck was carrying a full load of gravel. The driver is reportedly doing okay.

Ogden Town Supervisor Gay Lenhard said, “I am concerned about him. He's fine physically but emotionally it's going to take its toll.”

Neighbors tell us this intersection is a problem. Cos Amico said, “As far as I’m concerned, something ought to be done around here with the stop sign and the speed. As far as I’m concerned, it should 30 miles per hour."

Officials are working to reconstruct the crash to find out what happened.
