Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks is calling for an end to what she calls rancor at MCC. Maggie Brooks is calling on the board of trustees at MCC to end the divisiveness and hidden agendas that have tarnished the current search for a new president.
In a major announcement this morning Brooks revealed that she received a letter from former MCC President Peter Spina offering to help heal the college. Brooks says Spina is uniquely qualified to begin a new search process and lead the college in the right direction. She thinks the board should seriously consider the Spina’s offer
“Any trustee who cannot put aside his or her personal agenda and support a new search process with credibility should step aside and resign immediately,” Brooks said.
The board recently deadlocked on a new president. Five members voted for local attorney Bill Smith, and five board members voted for businessman and college professor Dennis Kessler.
