 Text messaging and camera phones are going to become even more useful. Monroe County's 911 Center gave a demonstration today on how cell phones can improve communication during emergencies.
Rochester is one of five centers chosen by the U.S. State Department to develop a new emergency system for the entire country.
Local officials say incorporating text messaging and camera phones is a top priority. Rochester, along with the other centers, will have to report to congress with the results of the test.
