Barber school graduates
There are close to 100 young men who are looking sharp tonight! That’s thanks to recent graduates of a local barber institute.
The graduates showed off the skills they’ve learned at Sharp Edgez Barber Institute.
On Monday, the grads hosted what they call a "day of empowerment from the inside to the outside,” giving free haircuts to about 90 young men from School Without Walls.
Christoher Cuby from School Without Walls said, “Having them understand how to navigate how to get to where they need to get at - we give them that guidance in terms of the training, the empowerment, letting them feel good about themselves, not just with the haircut, but also feeling good within themselves, and letting them recognize the greatness that lives inside of them.”
The event was in collaboration with a city program called ROOTS, or “Realizing Others’ Outstanding Talents.”
