Josh has been part of the News10NBC weather team since May 2011.
He was born and raised in Central New York in a western suburb of Syracuse called Westvale. His passion for weather began when he was 9 years old and experienced his first major winter storm, The Blizzard of ’93 and then again 5 years later with The Labor Day Storm of ’98. In both of those extreme severe events he wanted to learn about how and why they happened.
His first lesson in weather started in an Earth Science class during his freshmen year of high school. He later went on to study at SUNY Oswego and completed his B.S. degree in Meteorology graduating Cum Laude. While in college he interned with WSTM, the NBC affiliate in Syracuse, and Time Warner Cable’s News10Now, now YNN. Shortly after finishing college he was offered a position and worked for five years at YNN in Syracuse.
While at YNN he was able to cover weather on-air for the whole state including YNN Rochester, formerly R News, directly from Syracuse due to their fiber network across the state.
Josh is a movie guru and likes anything from classic horror to comedy to suspense, science fiction and action. He loves to travel and has been to Europe a few times visiting Spain while in high school and Poland while in college, but would like to go back and visit different countries in the future.
