A 10-year-old boy has died after being trapped in a snow bank near his Greece home on Wednesday night.
Greece Police say the boy, Corey Denoncourt was making snow forts with a friend at the Creek House Commons apartment complex on White Swan Drive when a snow pile collapsed and Denoncourt fell head first into the snow, becoming trapped.
Several children from the apartment complex helped pull Denoncourt out, and another child ran home and told his mother to call 911.
Emergency crews arrived at the apartment complex within three minutes. He was taken to Unity Hospital where police say he was in critical condition. Police say the boy died around 6:15 p.m. Thursday night.
Greece Police want to caution people about playing in big piles of snow - they may appear to be solid, but they are not always stable. Officers say be careful and do not play alone.
