A Geneva man was sentenced to ten years supervised release after being convicted of child pornography possession.
According the U.S. Attorney's Office in Western New York, 71-year-old Horace Daniels downloaded disturbing child pornography via a peer-to-peer file sharing network. This was discovered by law enforcement during an undercover investigation back in August and September of 2012.
During the investigation, officials said they executed a search warrant of Daniels' home in Geneva. Law enforcement officials said they seized multiple images of children, many of whom were under the age of 12. Officials say the children in the photos were engaged in sexually explicit conduct, many of which depicted acts of violence.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The initiative was started in 2006 by the Department of Justice.
