Any child can achieve their dreams, despite emotional or behavioral challenges. That was the message at the "Got Dreams" ceremony, recognizing youth and families who have overcome mental health obstacles.

It was held at the Rochester Museum and Science Center tonight.

“We're raising awareness so that more people will feel that it's ok to seek treatment. that its helpful and that it can help you thrive and achieve your goals like the youth we have tonight who run the program are all youth who have overcome challenges and are reaching their dreams and are doing fabulous. They want to thank the people in their life and in their community who have helped them reach those dreams,” said Dr. Kathleen Plum, Director of the Monroe Co. Office of Mental Health.

Similar events were held across the country because today is National Children's Mental Health day.
