Deputies say the man suspected in a robbery in Henrietta impersonated a police officer and later pointed a gun at a deputy.
According to investigators, Daniel Nwosu, age 23, forced his way into a room at the Days Inn on West Henrietta Road Monday evening. The victim told deputies that Nwosu had a gun and told her he was a police officer.
Around 5:05 p.m., deputies were called to the Days Inn for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, deputies say Nwosu busted out a window and ran from the scene, taking money from the victim.
Deputies chased after him and say during the chase he pointed the "gun" at deputies and then dropped it. He then ran in the woods where he was later captured by deputies.
According to the sheriff's office, the gun Nwosu had was a BB gun.
Deputies say Nwosu "admitted to his actions." He is charged with robbery, burglary, criminal impersonation of a police officer, manancing and resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Henrietta Town Court and sent to Monroe County Jail.
