Boaters asked to reduce speeds on Canandaigua Lake

Law enforcement is asking boaters to lower their speeds on Canandaigua Lake.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, is urging boaters to use caution due to floating debris while operating boats on Canandaigua Lake.  Boaters are asked to operate their vessels at no more than 5 miles per hour within 200 feet of shore on Canandaigua Lake.

Boaters are also asked to observe reduced speeds on Honeoye Lake. There could be floating debris below the surface.
