Brothers visit Washington together thanks to Honor Flight

October 23, 2016 07:19 PM

Honor Flight Rochester gives many veterans in the area a special opportunity, but for the Bergeron brothers, it was even more special.

The Bergeron Brothers- Larry, Lou and Roland- were all on Honor Flight Rochester 51, and had all served in the Korean war together. The organization took them on an all-expenses-paid trip to see the War Memorials in Washington DC.

"So there's three of us and it was just exciting," said Larry, "it really was."

Lou agreed:

"This feels like it was well worth every bit of it," he said, "I wouldn't replace any of it."

Roland, meanwhile, was emotional:

It's hard not to wipe your eyes," he said, "especially to see the little ones, how they come out and all that. It's great."

A fourth Bergeron brother, who was in the Navy, has already passed away.

News10NBC's Rebecca Leclair was the emcee for Sunday's event, the final mission of 2016.
