Buffalo Public Schools will close on Friday due to cold temps

The thermometer is expected to drop this week as cold temps and even colder wind chills make it unpleasant to be outside.

Ahead of the cold, Buffalo Public School officials have cancelled classes for Friday, our affiliate WGRZ reports. As of right now, News10NBC is not aware of any schools in the Rochester area that have announced they will close.

The high for Friday is expected to be 0 degrees with windchills that could be colder than negative 20 degrees. Schools tell us the recommendation from the health department is to close school when wind chill temps go below negative 25 degrees.
