Canandaigua man accused of burning clothes on sidewalk, assaulting officer

A Canandaigua man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly fought with officers as they tried to arrest him for setting clothes on fire on a sidewalk.

At around 10:45 p.m. Sunday, officers spotted a small fire burning on the sidewalk on Phoenix Street. An investigation revealed 21-year-old Klon Reese started the fire.

Officers tried to take Reese into custody, but he resisted arrest and fought with them. One officer sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Reese is charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, open burning, disorderly conduct, and littering.

Reese is being held at the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment.
