Chris Horvatits joined the News10NBC team in December 2014. Before his time in Rochester, Chris reported for WWNY in Watertown, NY.
His career in television started while he was a student at SUNY Oswego. Before graduating in 2013, Chris worked as a reporter and play-by-play voice for the school’s nationally ranked hockey team. Chris covered the team at the 2012 and 2013 Final Fours in Lake Placid.
After leaving Oswego, Chris began work in Watertown in the Summer of 2013. During his time in the North Country, Chris reported on 73 winter storms (give or take), a presidential visit, the kidnapping of two Amish sisters from their rural St. Lawrence County home, and dug into the explosion of heroin on Watertown’s streets. He has won a New York State Broadcasters Association Award for his work.
Chris was born and raised in the Buffalo, NY suburb of Lancaster, so he’s no stranger to Western New York. Due to his Buffalo roots, there are few things Chris enjoys more than eating a dozen wings while watching a Bills or Sabres game. You can find him around town jogging or playing just about any sport.
