Churchville man pleads guilty following crash in Gates

A Churchville man who had to be revived with Narcan after a crash in Gates has pleaded guilty.

On Sept. 4, 29-year-old Steig Hale crashed a vehicle on Buffalo Road near Elmgrove Road. Police say Hale is also a parolee and he was not wearing his ankle bracelet.

Officers say Hale was headed east on Buffalo Road when he crossed over the center line and struck the guy wire to an electric pole on the other side of the road. As a result, the crash knocked out power to homes and traffic lights in the area.

At the scene, police say Hale was unconscious, but they were able to revive him using Narcan.

Hale plead guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance and DWAI drugs. He will serve 179 days in jail and pay more than $1,000 in fines and court fees.
