Temperatures below freezing through Friday

January 13, 2018 10:52 PM

Despite the cold, high temperatures will gradually increase throughout the week in the Rochester area.

After a chilly start on Sunday morning, temperatures will climb to only around 16 degrees. That’s between 15-20 degrees colder than where temperatures should be for this time of year.

We'll see a nice mix of sun and clouds throughout the Sunday, especially if you live farther away from Lake Ontario.  If you live north of 104, you will see a few light lake effect snow showers through the first half of the day, with just a couple of inches of snow expected.

On Monday, expect high temperatures around 24 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds, and some evening snow showers carrying over to Tuesday Morning.

Tuesday will see sunshine developing in the afternoon with highs around 27 degrees.

Each and every day this week temperatures will be warming up a little bit more each day with highs around 25 on Wednesday 30 on Thursday and 34 on Friday. Expect plenty of sunshine on all three days.
