The Rochester Fire Department rescued two people who fell in the Erie Canal Monday morning.

Shortly before noon, crews responded to the Erie Canal between Kendrick and Moore Road for two people in the water. Fire officials say two people were trying to tie their boat up when the male passenger fell out of the boat. Crews say the man’s wife also fell in while trying to help.
