Cuomo requests expansion of local health departments efforts

Governor Andrew Cuomo is requesting local health departments in New York expand their efforts to help New Yorkers in need of a flu shot.

In response to the request, the department has enhanced its response system regarding the flu cases that continue to increase throughout the county and nationwide.

The department is continuing to surveillance the flu and other communicable diseases which is crucial for monitoring the health of the population.

Contact your healthcare provider if you have flu symptoms including fever, chills, headache, sore throat,dry cough, and body aches.

The Livingston County Department of Health recommends avoiding close contact with sick individuals, staying home from school and or work when sick, covering your mouth with a tissue, and washing of the hands often to prevent the disease.
