A Rochester fourth grader has been recognized with a Do The Right Thing award.

Brielle Harris attends Andrew J. Townson School 39. In December 2016, Brielle was home alone with her grandmother. She found her grandmother on the floor of her room. She called her mom and Brielle's mother asked her to see if grandma was responsive -- she wasn't.

Brielle called 911 and stayed calm as she told first responders what they needed to know to help her grandmother.

She says, "My mom and grandma taught me when something bad happens, always call somebody first and then call 911."

When not at school, Brielle takes lessons in ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop.
