Our latest Do the Right Thing award winner is an eleventh grader from Wilson Magnet High School.

Gerald Cook came to his teacher because he noticed a student wearing shoes that were too tight.

He took it upon himself to ask the boy his shoe size and brought a pair of shoes to school for him. His teacher says Gerald was not looking for praise but for ways to help others.

Gerald Cook told his teacher, "'Ms. Sykes, whenever you can give these to him' and she did and she said he burst into tears. And I don't want none of this and I just wanted him know and people know that I care."

Gerald is on the wrestling squad at school and is a great role model.
