An eighth grader from School #45 has been honored with a Do the Right Thing Award.

Chardenay Robinson was nominated this past December. She went to the school social worker to express concern about a classmate. Chardenay was worried about the student's emotional and social health.

She didn't want the student to experience harm or suffer emotionally. But, little did she know that the student had already been working with the social worker and getting help.

"I didn't want anything to happen to her," says Chardenay. "People might be like, 'I should have been there' but I was there for her and helped her when she needed it."

Some of Chardenay's favorite things are dancing and music.
