Liberty's mom coordinates the Annual Craft Sale at Saint Rita's School. Liberty was helping her mom set up the craft sale when her mother had a serious health crisis. The eighth grader got medical attention and stayed behind as the sales coordinator while keeping her siblings calm -- who also stayed with her.

"I was freaking out because I was scared and I didn't want to show that because I knew it would freak out my little brothers because they saw mom in pain and they were scared and I didn't want to worry my mom," she says.

Liberty's teachers say they are proud of her blossoming leadership and her role model behavior.
