State introduces Empire Pass Card

The state is offering families a new pass to get into state parks.

It's called the Empire Pass Card. It's a wallet-sized plastic card that includes a QR code and chip technology.

The state says it's a family friendly alternative to a traditional window decal because the card can be shared within a household -- and is not assigned to a specific vehicle.

It costs $80 for one year.
