"Tot-Al Care" -- a day care located in Perinton -- is closing up shop.
Parents tell News10NBC they were informed Friday morning of the sudden closure.
Representatives for Tot-al Care tell us they are closing at the end of the day, but would not disclose the reasons for the closure.
We checked the state Office of Children and Family Services, and found that -- since last December -- the day care has had eight inspections. During seven of those eight inspections, the day care has been cited for violations with the state. However, all of those violations are listed as "corrected" by the state.
UPDATE: In a late Friday afternoon statement, the OCFS says Tot-al Care closed voluntarily. "OCFS has been in contact with the provider, who cited inadequate staffing as the reason for ceasing operations," the agency says.
The OCFS adds, "Parents seeking child care may contact the Child Care Council, Inc. for referrals at firstname.lastname@example.org or 585-654-4720. They may also find information on the OCFS website at ocfs.ny.gov."
