Critics are calling Equifax's response to the data breach a mess.

Equifax set up a website in response to the hack that compromised the information of 143 million Americans. The website allows possible victims to verify whether you are affected.

But, according to the Verge, some Equifax customer service workers have mistakenly been directing people to a misspelled phishing website since September 9.

The creator of the fake website tells the Verge he set it up in order to expose vulnerabilities on Equifax's response page and the website is not malicious.
