Several arrests were made after three fights broke out at the Greece Ridge Mall Monday night.
Five males between the ages of 16-20 were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Greece police do not know how many people were involved in the three separate fights that took place around 8 p.m. Monday. The fights happened in and around the food court.
No police officers or patrons were injured.
The fight at Greece Ridge was just one of a series of fights at malls across the area and country.
Deputies also confirmed a fight happened at Marketplace Mall. Another fight was reported at Destiny USA Mall in Syracuse. Police do not believe these fights are connected. But they are taking extra steps to keep you safe.
Greece police say they're adding several patrol officers at the mall through New Year's.
"This is an isolated incident," says Greece Police Sgt. Jared Rene. "I don't think there's an uptick, or a spike in fights."
He adds, "We hope that we have a successful holiday season at the mall, but we also know and we pre-plan and have additional patrol officers there at all times."
Rachel Spotts: "Was anyone else hurt?"
Rene: "No one was hurt."
Similar fights broke out in malls across the country -- all the day after Christmas.
Spotts: "What do you think about it?"
Angora: "Ridiculous. Fighting for what? There's no purpose."
Angora says this is why she doesn't let her kids go to the mall without her.
"Fighting over nothing," says Angora. "Get your life together kids."
Police say those arrested have all been charged with disorderly conduct. The mall does have a curfew in place on Friday and Saturday nights after 4 p.m. During that time, anyone under the age of 19 has to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Police say they've seen a major drop in crime since the curfew was issued several years ago.
