A flood warning will take effect starting at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday morning for the Lake Ontario shoreline.
Homeowners in lakeshore communities have been dealing with flooding for a while. Earlier this year, people living along the lakeshore spent a lot of time pumping out their basements, piling sandbags, and boarding up windows.
Water levels rose several feet above average this year. Some blame Plan 2014, which is the IJC’s plan to regulate water levels. The IJC, meanwhile, blames the wet rainy year...
Lakeshore flooding in our area has cost homeowners, collectively, millions of dollars in damage.
The flood warning will continue until overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning as winds start to pick up across the lake.
