Four people are facing charges after deputies say they were caught using counterfeit money in Wayne County.
Three of the suspects -- 18-year-old Candice Smith, 20-year-old Essence House, and 20-year-old Christopher Sherman -- are from Rochester. The fourth person, Arthur Bay, is from Concord, New Hampshire.
Investigators say they attempted to pay using a fake $50 bill at a Dollar General store in the town of Sodus.
All four were charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and conspiracy.
Blay was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Sherman was also charged with traffic violations including aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
The four were arraigned and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash and $20,000 bond. They are scheduled to reappear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.
