Rochester City Court Judge Leticia Astacio is due back in court on Friday. She'll be in court to appeal a ruling that stems from her DWI sentence.
Judge Astacio pleaded guilty to a probation violation last month but told News10NBC she's not guilty and only did that to get out of jail. She's been convicted of DWI, accused of multiple probation violations and thrown into jail three times.
Judge Stephen Aronson is expected to give a written decision on the status of Astacio's probation. That could happen as soon as Friday. As for Astacio's appeal, that's related to her sentence as well. That's what she's scheduled to be in court for on Friday in front of Judge William Kocher at 1 p.m.
Astacio is still making her $174,000 salary. The only way she can be fired is through the state's Commission on Judicial Conduct. News10NBClegal analyst Judge Joseph Valentino says the committee could be closing in on a determination soon.
