The Rochester Police Department confirms it investigated an incident Monday at the Leadership Academy.
Police are calling it a “sexual allegation incident.”
News10NBC has the name and picture of the student who was arrested, however because he is only a juvenille and has not been charged with a felony, we have chosen not to release it.
Rochester police tell us the student is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and coercion.
The student who he’s accused of coercing is 14.
A robocall from the principal went out Monday alerting parents that something had taken place in the school’s locker room and that a student had been arrested.
The principal said he did not think any other students were involved, but said “we encourage you to speak with your children and contact us with any concerns.”
The Leadership Academy is a school for young men grades seven through 12. About 550 students attend.
News10NBC did speak with a few parents who said this incident is upsetting and raises concerns about the safety of their children at school.
At this time, no one is willing to speak on camera.
Stay with News10NBC on-air and online for more updates on this developing story.
