Michael's mom is thankfully for the outpouring of support from the community. To express that, she sent this statement posted on Facebook:

"On behalf of our entire family, we cannot thank enough the Irondequoit and Greater Rochester community and beyond for the outpouring of love and support of Michael. We are humbled and overwhelmed and eternally grateful."

Over 40 thousand dollars has been raised to support the family as they get through this tragic experience.
