Man pleads guilty in connection with murder on Central Avenue

A man is facing 20 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a Rochester man.

Prosecutors say 36-year-old Melvin White was killed after he was shot while leaving a Central Avenue club in the early morning hours of April 17. Michael Mighty, Eli Rosa, Jr., and Jamol Jackson were arrested and charged in connection to White's death.

Mighty, 23, admitted to attempting to robbing White and ultimately shooting White, resulting in his death. He will be sentenced on Feb. 27.

Rosa, Jr. and Jackson are scheduled for trial for the same crime on March 5.
