The picture was posted by White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders one day after the air strike on Syria.

The caption reads: "Last night the president put our adversaries on notice: when he draws a red line he enforces it."

However Twitter users noticed something that didn't quite match up.

Vice President Mike Pence could be seen in the photo, but the night of the missile strike referenced in the tweet, he was at a political summit in Peru.

Sanders was then accused of attempting to mislead the public by using an image that was not relevant to her tweet.

Twitter users called her a liar, deplorable, and questioned her role as Press Secretary.

Sanders later addressed the issue in a tweet saying "As I said, the president put our adversaries on notice that he enforces red lines with the strike on Syria Friday night. The photo was taken Thursday in the situation room during Syria briefing."

She admits the picture was taken the day before- but says it was during a meeting about the missile strike makes these claims... noise.
