Routine surveillance of a phone call made from a Pennsylvania prison led to a handgun being recovered outside a Rochester school.
On April 5, federal officials say they monitored two calls made by an inmate at the Allenwood Correctional Facility. During these calls, officials say the inmate discussed a possible hit on a Rochester student. Special Investigative Services then listened to the recorded calls and determined that the inmate was trying to stop the hit.
Rochester Police were alerted, and a handgun was later found under a dumpster outside the Rochester International Academy. Investigators says the gun was found in the area the inmate described.
So far no arrests have been made in connection with the gun found under the dumpster.
